Leaving Puerto Rico: Going Home, Where My Heart Is
68
Time To Go Home
I left my heart at home with my loved ones,
Where they are all waiting for me,
Puerto Rico had been on my “Bucket List”
And it has been all that I had hoped it would be.
I’ve seen its beauty from coast to coast,
I’ve eaten too much, and have spent a lot of time,
Just laying around in the tropical sun,
I’ve had time to relax, write, and rhyme.
Now my thoughts turn to my home,
Where my family all wait with open arms,
They’ll all talk at once, and want to hear,
Of this Enchanted Island, and its charms.
I’ll be home soon, I promise,
Hold those kisses and hugs a little longer,
Our love for one another will never die,
But being apart has make our love stronger.
To be separated from the ones you love,
Is good for us all every once in a while,
But then the heart begins to ache,
To see loving faces, and their smile.
What’s next on my “bucket list”? You may wonder,
I don’t have a clue yet, but wherever it may be,
I hope it’s a place that they will want to go,
Because they’ll have to tag along with me!

Street Vendor in Puerto Rico
One last photo of my visit to Puerto Rico. The Street Vendor came down the street selling his fruits and vegetables, some I have never seen or heard of.

Am so glad you had a great trip. It's good to get away but extra sweet to return home where our loved ones are.
Voted up across the board except for funny.
Nice to be heading back home when you've been away so long. This is such a heart warming poem. Happy Valentine's Day to you and a hug from me to Baby and my cat Sid sends Baby a kitty kiss for Valentine's. lol
Happy home coming Mary! There is no place like home and a loving family to greet you.
Puerto Rico (Rich Port) sounds like a wonderful place to visit.
Treasure the memories!
Hi Mary. It's always good to get away. It refreshes your mind and gives a little perspective. But..............it's always good to come home. I am happy for you to get the chance. Check it off the list. I will bet there are things that happened or things that you saw, that will make a good hub to share with us. Did you see any snakes? ha ha.
What a sweet poem, Mary. Delighted you had such a pleasant extended visit in Puerto Rico. Would not be surprised if you returned again soon. Their 'sand gets in your shoes' just like that of Florida.
Love that picture of you with the vendor. That melon he's holding is almost bigger than you, m'dear. :)
I'm glad you back with your family and full of love.
I had to go back to England for a little while, leaving my husband here was harder then I realized, when seeing him waiting for me as I came off the plane was wonderful. Be both learned a lot about us. Voted up, beautiful and awesome, Joyce.
Welcome home, Mary. So glad you enjoyed PR. I miss it so. You made me melancholic.
Great poem. Voted up.
When I seen that 'Mary615', I STOP what I'm doing, because I know it will be a great read. Of course, you never fail to make us readers smile. Thanks for sharing. Voted up for ya.

Hi Mary. I am so pleased that you had such a wonderful trip. It is nice to get away for a while but it is always so much nicer returning home again especially when you have a loving family waiting for you.
The fresh fruit looks wonderful.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what is next on your bucket list :)
Mary, You expressed such beautiful sentiments in your poem. Your family is very lucky to have you. I'm glad you enjoyed your Puerto Rico trip; I recall when you posed the question to all of us as to where you should escape; sounds like it all worked out well.
Hello Mary, I love your passion for traveling and for Puerto Rico. I loved my very short time there, one part of one day only. I am trying to recall what took you there in the first place? Was it a vacation time, or do you have family there too? Loved your photo of the street vendor and amazing fruits!
Its true what you say, that time apart can make the love grow stronger. Its always great to go I think, and always great to come home. I can't wait to hear of your future adventures! Keep us all updated on your bucket list changes or additions! Have a great night, and day tomorrow.
Dear Mr.s Mary : So nice that you had a wonderful vacation. Glad you enjoyed it. God Bless You.
