Easy To Make Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake

This chocolate Texas Sheet Cake is SO easy to make. You just mix all the ingredients for the Cake in one saucepan, and turn it out into a baking pan.

After it has baked, the frosting is made in one saucepan and poured out onto the baked cake.

The pan I use has a nice fitting top so that I can take the cake to family gatherings, picnics, etc.

This cake is always a favorite, and everyone wants the recipe!

I don't know where this recipe orginated, Texas maybe????

Assemble All Of Your Ingredients

Whenever I am cooking anything, I like to get all my ingredients ready. I measure everything out, and as I use an item, I set it aside. That let's me know I have included that ingredient in my recipe.

After The Cake Is Frosted

You can leave the cake plain, with just the chocolate frosting, but I have found that some people like nuts. I put chopped pecans on half of the cake, and leave the other half plain.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this recipe! You are right, Cashmere...it's yummy! You know, SannelL, I wondered if I did TOO many photos, and was thinking of deleting some. What do you think?

bearnmom 7 months ago

thank you for the recipe -- my neighbor made the best and I never got the recipe.

Hi bearnmom! Good, now you have the recipe! One of my daughters has a Birthday today, and the only thing she wanted was a Texas Sheet Cake! So, yesterday I decided since I was going to make the cake anyway, I'd cook it and write a Hub about it, and so, I did. Good luck baking this cake! Regards, Mary

Hi 2uesday, do try this cake. Your friends and family will love you for it. I took my daughter's cake to her yesterday where she works, and within 30 min. it was all gone! I almost went back and took out some of the photos, because I was afraid I'd overdone it, but now, I won't! See you around....

The title caught my eye because I wondered what "Texas" sheet cake was. From the recipe it sounds like it would be similar to a cake-like brownie. Correct? It does sound good. Thanks for the recipe.

mary615 7 months ago

Yes, Peggy, you are correct: it is like a brownie (only better). All the chocolate lovers go for this one! I look forward to following you!

stylezink 7 months ago

Yep, I'm baking this weekend! And since my kids are too old to go trick or treating, they'll enjoy all these baked treats. I'm going to do this one too. This cake sounds really good! Thanks for the great ideas! My family will thank you, lol!
