How To Make Christmas Angels Made Out Of Lace Ribbon
74A Project to make Christmas Angels
I'd like to share with you a project to make Christmas Angels from Lace Edged Ribbon.
Completed Christmas Angel
Buy Different Colors of Ribbons For Variety
Buy different colors of lace-edged ribbons. I especially like the ivory colored ribbon; I think it looks more like an angel when I'm finished. Hang the angels as tree ornaments , arrange them on their own wreath , or line them in a row down a ribbon bell-pull.
These are quite beautiful when used on a Christmas package. It's just an extra little gift, because the person receiving the package will keep the little angel and reuse it.
Materials You Will Need
For Each Angel:
These materials can be found at any good Craft Store
2 feet of 2 1/2 inch Lace Edged Ribbon
1 3/4 inch Bead: I like to use the shiny pearl bead, but you can use a wooden bead, just make sure you buy a bead with a hole in the top and the bottom!
1 Gold Glitter Stem (I call these "pipe cleaners")
Very fine tie wire
Assemble The Angel
Cut the ribbon into one 12 inch length for the body, and two 6 inch lenghs for the wings. Fold the 12 inch length in 1/2 inch accordian pleats.
Place the Glitter Stem into the middle of the folds, leaving about 1 inch. Wrap the fine wire tightly around the ribbon and stem about 1/4 inch below the bead to hold it in place. Using the 1 inch stem you left at the top, form a halo.
For the wings: fold the 6 inch length of ribbon in 1/2 inch accordian pleats. Fold in half, and place one on each side of the body. From the front of the wings, wrap a Glitter Stem around wings and body to hold together. This will cover the fine wire you used. Twist firmly and bring some of the stem to the top to form a hanger.
After you have assembled the Angel, go back and work with the accordian pleats to fan them out.
A Fun Project
This is a fun project for the entire family to get involved with. Children love to make these little angels. We usually make at least 12 when we start the project. Just buy extra ribbon, and the other materials, depending on how many you're going to make.
When you first read my directions, it may look complicated, but I promise, as you move along making the angel, it will become very clear.
You'll be glad you learned how to make these beautiful Christmas Angels, and you will be teaching all your friends and family how to make them. too!

This is very pretty and it looks so easy. Enjoyed checking out your hub. You have some more hubs I haven't read yet and will get back to.
Hello Mary, this last Christmas a sweet lady gave me an angel she had made. She crafted it out of a wooden block, and it had lace, etc. I don't know if I could make one like that, but these are just as pretty. I hope to get back into crafting more, it brings such joy I think.
I have so many hobbies, that sometimes it is hard to decide what to focus on, and there are only so many hours in a day! Loved it, thank you for sharing!
